Principal

My name is Barb Yetzer and I am the principal at Redtail Ridge Elementary. I started at Redtail in 2009--the same year the school opened!

I received my Educational Administration certificate from St. Mary's University, and have more than 20 years of experience inside and out of the classroom.

This year at Redtail, we will continue to focus on building-wide expectations. As part of the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) initiative, students are being taught expected behaviors in all areas of the school. This works hand in hand with the Responsive Classroom philosophy, which is based upon a firm belief in the importance of social skills and emotional intelligence.

Staff and students at Redtail Ridge are continuing our environmental efforts with our Waste Dispersal Program. When you visit Redtail Ridge, we ask you put items in the correct recycling container (Plastics/Aluminum/Glass/Metal, Paper, Organics or Trash). Most containers have a sign with examples of what items belong to each category! Thanks for helping us recycle at Redtail Ridge!

I live in Lonsdale with my husband Mike. We have two sons, Jordan and Kyle, who are also educators. I also consider our dog Kirby as our third son! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, snowmobiling, going to sporting events (football, basketball and baseball), shopping and reading.

I am honored to be the principal at Redtail Ridge...the staff, students and families are remarkable! We have an outstanding PTC (Parent-Teacher-Child) organization and it has been very supportive by providing funds for field trips, supplies, programs, instructional materials, student incentives and the new playground equipment.
